Aaron Honaker brings considerable corporate bankruptcy, commercial and restructuring experience to his clients, which have been drawn from a wide range of industries, including construction, e-commerce, electronics, energy, financial services, healthcare, investment capital, manufacturing, media, oil and gas services, real estate, retail, software, technology and telecommunications.
Aaron has substantial experience handling many complex legal issues that arise in business reorganizations, financial restructurings, loan workouts, liquidations and distressed acquisitions and sales, as well as cross-border proceedings involving U.S. and foreign law. This experience is focused primarily in the areas of Chapter 11 restructurings, corporate crisis management, complex transactions, workouts, creditors’ rights and business litigation.
Aaron assists clients with reorganizations, finance transactions, and contractual and commercial litigation matters. In addition, he has extensive bankruptcy experience representing lenders, landlords, manufacturers, suppliers, vendors and debtors in reorganization proceedings. Aaron is adept in handling commercial real property foreclosures for secured lenders. Moreover, he has regularly represented plaintiffs and defendants in avoidance actions in Bankruptcy Courts throughout the U.S. and hedge funds and private equity groups in the acquisition of distressed assets around the world.Areas of Concentration

• Representation of Chapter 11 Trustee (and Successor Agent to FDIC) of Southeast Banking Corporation, returning over $400 million in distributions to bondholders and other creditors from proceeds of settlements with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and liquidation of other assets (S.D. Fla.).
• Representation of real estate fund in acquisition of commercial and residential real estate development through confirmed plan of liquidation (S.D. Fla.).
• Representation of Bell Canada (as U.S. counsel) in acquisition of Canadian assets of Circuit City Stores, Inc. subsidiary through section 363 sale (E.D. Va.).
• Representation of one of the largest commercial real estate investment firms in acquisition of large commercial real estate parcel and subsequent sale to a big box retailer (S.D. Fla.)
• Representation of Chapter 7 trustee of a foreign exchange trading company in obtaining judgments in the amount of nearly $10 million of fraudulent transfers for the benefit of the estate, including successful trial on the merits of a Section 548 avoidance action (S.D. Fla.)
• Representation of Time Warner, Inc. and TMZ.com with respect to legal actions brought by Trustee for Lorraine Brooke Associates, Inc. estate (a corporation established and operated by O.J. Simpson and family) in connection with the alleged publication of manuscript of O.J. Simpson book “If I Did It?” (S.D. Fla.)
