Co-Chairman, Litigation DepartmentAntonio.Castro@InfanteZumpano.com
Direct line: (786) 345-2128Ever since he began his career as a prosecutor, Tony Castro has had a passion for justice. As an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, Tony spent years in the front lines of litigation—investigating crimes, interviewing and preparing witnesses, selecting juries, examining and cross-examining witnesses, delivering effective opening and closing statements, and prosecuting cases to the full extent of the law. He notably, tried over 40 jury cases and prosecuted violent criminals, rapists, stalkers, and criminal fraudsters. Because of his ability and experience, he was selected to teach litigation skills to junior prosecutors.
As a commercial and business litigator for the past 15 years, Tony brings that depth of courtroom experience to bear for his clients. Following his government service, Tony entered private practice in 1996 and later joined a national litigation firm representing major companies in defending mass tort and class action litigation. As litigation counsel to these companies, Tony represented clients on early case resolution and damage management issues, witness interviews and fact development, and trial team and expert selection. He planned and participated in the pretrial preparation of complex and high-value trials, including mock jury selection and jury trials with national experts.
At Infante Zumpano, Tony Co-Chairs the Litigation Department, and represents multinational corporations, as well as individuals and local companies, in resolving all types of commercial disputes, including business torts, breaches of contracts, enforcement of non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, and business dissolutions. Fluent in Spanish, Tony has handled litigation matters involving various foreign jurisdictions in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, and has litigated numerous matters relating to forum non conveniens.
Tony serves on the Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee and on the Advisory Committee on Rules and Procedures for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®—its highest peer review rating—and has been repeatedly recognized by Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite as one of the State’s Legal Leaders in the area of commercial litigation, and as a Florida Super Lawyer.
Tony is Chairman of the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee 11-C. He has served as the President of the Cuban American Bar Association and is a Director of the League of Prosecutors.
