ChairmanCarlos.Zumpano@InfanteZumpano.com
Direct: 305-503-2991Integrity, leadership, wisdom – it is those qualities that distinguish our Co-Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Carlos Zumpano. And it’s those qualities that have helped Carlos become a trusted advisor to some of the most successful companies and businesspeople in Florida. A true “business lawyer,” Carlos effectively counsels clients on business disputes, employment and labor matters and litigation and makes transactions happen, which why he co-chairs our Corporate Department and chairs our Employment and Labor Department.
Carlos’ advice is sought after by entrepreneurs and their start-up companies, whom he counsels on investment structuring, financing, litigation, and employment and labor issues. Even as he led Infante Zumpano’s growth into one of the largest certified minority owned law firms in the country in the face of the devastating economic downturn, he forged long-term partnerships with promising local companies, helping take them from start-ups to established middle-market companies. He is known for delivering business-savvy solutions to the challenges faced by emerging companies. He is experienced in forming corporations, limited liability companies, simple and complex commercial and corporate transactions, litigation and more. Likewise, he is experienced in equity, private placement, asset-based, and unsecured capital transactions.
Moreover, established businesses, CEOs, corporate staffs, and boards of directors seek Carlos’ counsel on governance issues and board dynamics, employment and labor related matters, the structuring and negotiation of commercial transactions involving different forms of business organizations and industries, domestic and international transactions, and debt-finance arrangements.
Known for his thoughtful and measured approach, Carlos has also advised clients on high-value litigation and internal investigations. At age 27, Carlos became one of the youngest United States attorneys hired by the Dominican Republic to represent it in significant Federal Court litigation. Carlos was also retained by a major international bank to prosecute its greater than $160 million claim in a United States Bankruptcy matter.
Carlos’ practice also has a glamorous side, as he also leads the firm’s Entertainment Law Practice Group. He has counseled entertainment and media personalities on their business transaction and litigation, and represented them in negotiations with sponsors and media outlets.
His leadership has been recognized by South Florida Business Leader® magazine, formerly South Florida CEO, which named him as Best Local Attorney in 2011. This magazine also named him a 2010 South Florida Business Leader of the Year Finalist in the Legal Profession, a distinction extended to only five attorneys in South Florida. South Florida Business Leader® magazine also featured him in its 2010 South Florida Power Players edition and named him a 2010 South Florida Top Impact Law Leader. Carlos is also AV® Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest peer-review rating provided to an attorney by Martindale-Hubbell®.
Carlos is a former championship swimmer, and is proud to be the Co-Founder of the Cuban American Undergraduate Students Association at Harvard (CAUSA), which still exists today and boasts of numerous alumni.
