Direct: 305-704-3345The legendary strategist Sun Tzu teaches that “Invincibility lies in a superior defense.” Clients who rely on Theodore “Ted” Miloch’s deep legal defense expertise know that is true. In fact, Ted has earned his civil defense experience over nearly two decades of successfully representing major state, national and international businesses in commercial and real estate disputes, product liability and tort cases and employment claims.
Ted regularly counsels clients in all stages of defending commercial litigation matters. A firm believer that early strategic planning is key to ultimate litigation success, Ted’s arsenal of skills includes early case resolution and damage mitigation management techniques. On complex and high-value product liability or mass tort matters, Ted works closely with clients and their internal legal staff on proper witness interviews and fact development, trial team and expert selection, and litigation budget planning.
When litigation is inevitable, Ted brings to bear his defensive pretrial practice, discovery management, and trial preparation skills. He has hands-on experience in all stages of litigation, from motion practice to jury selection, from opening statements to entry of judgment.
Ted also advised clients post-judgment, instructing them on options to mitigate damage awards, including avenues of appeal. His Florida Bar Journal article, “A Practitioner’s Guide to the Taxation of Costs in Civil Actions,” is still considered the definitive summary of post-judgment taxation issues.
Ted also applies his considerable civil defense experience and strategic skills to advise and represent clients on a range of commercial disputes and matters, including business torts, breach of contract, enforcement of non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements, and business dissolutions.
Ted is AV® Preeminent™ Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®—its highest peer review rating—and has been recognized by Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite as one of the State’s Legal Leaders in the area of commercial litigation. He is the former President and is a current member of the Dade County Defense Bar Association. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and the Dade County, Palm Beach and American Bar Associations.
Born and raised in Michigan, Ted is a die-hard Wolverine, graduating from University of Michigan with a B.A. with high distinction from the School of Management. He is also a proud to be the third generation of his family to attend law school at the University of Detroit-Mercy, during which time he served as an intern for the Honorable Steven Rhodes, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan Southern Division.
Ted is deeply committed to his community, and has been a coach and the Vice President of the Wellington Roller Hockey Association since 2007. He also coaches youth lacrosse with the Wellington Wolfpack as well as the Florida Extreme Travel Lacrosse programs.
